Terms and rules

Last updated 3 October 2026

NovaShard is a free, non-commercial fan revival of a classic browser space game, run by volunteers. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original game's publisher. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Pilot names must not be offensive, impersonate staff or other players, or advertise anything.

Playing fair

• No bots or automation. Programs, scripts or macros that play for you (collecting boxes, shooting aliens or anything else) are not allowed. We monitor for automated play; detected accounts can be kicked, have bonus box rewards paused and be banned.
• No cheating or exploits. Don't modify the game client or its traffic, and don't abuse bugs. If you find one, report it through Support.
• No selling. Accounts, pilots and in-game items are not for sale or trade for real money or anything outside the game.
• Respect other players. No harassment, hate speech, threats, sharing other people's personal information or spam in chat, names or support messages.
• Don't pretend to be staff or ask anyone for their password. Staff will never ask for it.

Moderation

Staff can warn, mute, kick, pause rewards on, or ban accounts that break these rules, and can remove progress gained by breaking them. If you think a decision was wrong, appeal through Support, or on Discord if you can't log in.

The game can change

• We may change, rebalance or remove game content at any time, and restart the server for updates (usually with an in-game countdown).
• Progress from the beta is reset at launch. Progress can also be reset or corrected if a serious bug or exploit requires it; we will announce it.
• NovaShard is provided as it is, without guarantees. We may pause or close the service, and we are not liable for lost progress or downtime.

Money

NovaShard is free. There is nothing to buy, and no one is authorised to sell anything on our behalf.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Important changes are announced on the website and on Discord; continuing to play means you accept them.
